This conclusion is based on research conducted America’s Cornell University. According to the new study, eating using a smaller plate can help you lose weight 2 pounds or 0.9 kg per month.

“This is a simple strategy that is much more likely to succeed than others. It is easier to change the environment rather than changing your mind,” explains Dr. Brian Wansink, as reported by Dailymail, Tuesday (09/08/2011).

When spending the food on the plate, the brain sends a signal that the stomach is full. So eat a smaller plate will give visual cues to your brain that you are satisfied with a plate full of food.

In addition to eating a small plate, not eating in front of the television can also help you lose weight. Eating should be done with full concentration if you do not want the hunger to come back quickly. Eating in front of the television can disrupt your concentration on food, thus giving the sensation of fullness for longer.

Concentration and memory may help a person to control the appetite, even without ever realized by the concerned.
